KAT VR has put three new treadmills on sale: the KAT Walk C3 Core, the C3 Ultra Standard Edition and the C3 Ultra Power Edition. Store prices are $1,098, $1,598 and $1,798 with a Quest adapter included, read on kat-vr.com on October 28, 2026. The Ultra adds a larger base, backward walking and, on the Power Edition, a supply that charges a standalone headset while you play.

In short:

  • Three models, one sensor generation. The C3 Core, C3 Ultra Standard Edition and C3 Ultra Power Edition all list C3 series foot sensors and C3 shoes.
  • Launch week prices run lower. Each page carries a launch week code, and the sale is stated to end November 2, 2026. Budget from the store price and treat the code as a bonus.
  • Steam Frame is named first. KAT says the C3 Ultra is "Natively built for Steam Frame" and compatible with Meta Quest and PC VR headsets.
  • The C2 models stay on sale. The KAT Walk C2 Core Enhanced and C2 Plus Enhanced are still listed beside the new range.

What KAT launched

KAT VR is the consumer slip-mill supplier in BestInXR's comparison of VR treadmills, and until this week its current range was the C2. The store now lists the C3 series alongside it. Shopify product data on the store dates the C3 Ultra Standard Edition listing October 26, 2026 and the Power Edition and C3 Core listings October 27, 2026, in UTC+8. The homepage banner reads "C3 Ultra Series | 100 units Available now | Same-day shipping", and the C3 Core page says orders placed in launch week are guaranteed to ship by November 8.

What each model costs

These are the variant prices in the store's own product data, read October 28, 2026. Each model is sold with or without a Quest adapter, which adds $99.

ModelWith Quest adapterWithout adapterLaunch week price shown
C3 Core$1,098$999$899 with code ULTRA199
C3 Core with sit module$1,497$1,398
C3 Ultra Standard Edition$1,598$1,499$1,199 with code ULTRA399
C3 Ultra Power Edition$1,798$1,699$1,359 in the comparison table

The rendered pages and the product data give different figures on the same day, which is the pattern KAT has shown since BestInXR first checked it in September. The table leads with the store's product data and reports the rendered launch prices beside them. Every page also lists launch gifts, including a five year warranty, a fitness bundle and a VIP membership, so the price of the treadmill alone is the figure to compare.

What the Ultra adds

The C3 Ultra spec sheet lists a 1,000 mm platform against 940 mm for the C3 Core, and a 60 kg device against 56 kg. KAT describes the Ultra as having a "15% Larger Base" and a "68% Deeper Crouch", along with a doubled friction range and dual-axis movement for longer strides. Its other two headline features are its own named technologies:

  • KAT Natural Backward Walk. KAT calls it "The industry's first safe backward system" and says it runs on motion algorithms, so a player can step back to dodge rather than use a thumbstick.
  • KAT Hybrid Optical Sensors. Third generation foot sensors with a stated 5 ms latency and 1000 Hz processing. The spec table lists 10 hours of operating time per charge.

The Power Edition adds a built-in rotary power system with USB-C PD3.0 that powers a standalone headset during play. The page states the charging rate two ways: the hero reads "Charges to 85% in 50 mins", while the comparison table reads "100W PD3.0 Fast Charging: Up to 65% in 50 Min". Neither figure names a headset, so check it against the one you own.

Both editions list supported platforms as SteamVR, Oculus Home and Meta Quest Link through the KAT Nexus adapter, and supported headsets as Steam Frame, Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest Pro, Oculus Rift and Rift S, Valve Index, Vive and Vive Pro, Pimax, Cosmos and Windows MR headsets. KAT's claim of 3,000 or more supported games is its own figure, and the free locomotion caveat in its FAQ applies to every model.

Where the C3 sits in the market

With a Quest adapter, the C3 Core matches the $1,098 BestInXR recorded for the C2 Core Enhanced in September, and the C3 Ultra Standard Edition matches the $1,598 recorded for the C2 Plus Enhanced. That keeps KAT at the lowest published price of the four systems in our treadmill comparison. Virtuix sells Omni One for Quest at $2,595 and the Pico bundle at $2,995, so the Power Edition at full price is still about $800 under the nearest Virtuix system.

The Steam Frame line matters because Valve's Steam Frame is a standalone headset, and a standalone headset drawing power from the base can run a long session on mains power. The XR hardware price index puts the C3 range beside the headsets it attaches to.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How much does the KAT Walk C3 Ultra cost?

The C3 Ultra Standard Edition is $1,598 with a Quest adapter and $1,499 without, and the Power Edition is $1,798 and $1,699, in the store's product data on October 28, 2026. Launch week pages show $1,199 for the Standard Edition with a code, in a sale stated to end November 2.

2. What is the difference between the C3 Core and the C3 Ultra?

The Ultra lists a 1,000 mm platform against 940 mm, KAT's Natural Backward Walk and Hybrid Optical Sensors, and a Power Edition that charges a headset. The C3 Core is $1,098 with a Quest adapter and offers a sit module for $399 more.

3. Does the KAT Walk C3 work with Steam Frame?

KAT says the C3 Ultra is "Natively built for Steam Frame", and both Ultra editions list Steam Frame first among supported headsets. As with every treadmill, the game has to support free locomotion, which KAT states in its own FAQ.

4. Can the C3 Ultra charge a Quest while I play?

The Power Edition can, through a built-in USB-C PD3.0 supply. KAT's page gives 85% in 50 minutes in one place and up to 65% in 50 minutes in its comparison table, without naming a headset. Headset charging is a Power Edition feature.

5. Is the KAT Walk C2 discontinued?

The C2 Core Enhanced and C2 Plus Enhanced are still listed on kat-vr.com beside the C3 range as of October 28, 2026, so the C2 remains a current purchase.
